About the Nd:YAG 1064 Laser

About the Nd:YAG 1064 Laser

Nd:YAG 1064 Laser is a method that utilizes a solid-state Nd:YAG laser system, in which yttrium aluminium garnet crystals are doped with neodymium ions to generate a stable laser beam with a characteristic wavelength of 1064 nm. This wavelength belongs to the infrared spectrum and is capable of penetrating deeply into the skin, allowing it to reach tattoo pigment particles located within the dermis and subdermal layers. When the device operates in Q-switched mode, energy is stored and then released as extremely short laser pulses with very high intensity. Thanks to this unique pulsed mechanism, the laser can precisely target tattoo pigments while minimizing the impact on the surrounding skin tissue.

Mechanism of Action

Mechanism of Action

The Nd:YAG 1064 Laser operates based on the principle of selective photothermolysis, in which laser energy is primarily absorbed by tattoo pigment particles located within the skin. When the laser is emitted in extremely short, high-energy pulses, the pigment absorbs the energy and breaks down into smaller fragments. In addition to the photothermal effect, this process also generates a photoacoustic effect, producing mechanical pressure that precisely disrupts the structure of pigment particles while minimizing impact on the surrounding skin tissue. After fragmentation, the pigment particles are released from the cells and are subsequently cleared by phagocytic cells and gradually transported through the lymphatic system for elimination from the body. Thanks to its selective targeting mechanism and precise energy control, this method effectively fades tattoos while reducing the risk of skin damage and complications. This is also why the Nd:YAG 1064 Laser has become one of the most trusted technologies for tattoo removal today.

Advantages

Why choose this treatment

Versatility: The Nd:YAG 1064 Laser is suitable for various skin types, including darker skin tones.
High effectiveness: The Nd:YAG 1064 Laser targets tattoo pigment particles and breaks them down so they can be eliminated from the body, allowing the tattoo to fade safely. In addition, this process also stimulates collagen production to strengthen the skin structure.
Safety: Pigment particles are precisely fragmented without damaging the surrounding skin, making the procedure highly safe and reducing recovery time.

Treatment process

5 steps, clinically led

1

Step 1: Examination and analysis of the skin and tattoo

Before initiating the laser procedure, the doctor will examine the skin and evaluate the skin condition as well as the characteristics of the client’s tattoo.

2

Step 2: Eye protection (if necessary)

To protect the eyes from laser light, the doctor will provide the patient with protective goggles or eye shields.

3

Step 3: Laser Tattoo Removal

The doctor will gradually apply the laser to the tattooed area. A slight stinging sensation may occur during the procedure; if you feel uncomfortable or are concerned about pain, you can inform the doctor so that appropriate measures can be taken.

4

Step 4: Provide post-treatment instructions and skincare guidance

The doctor provides post-treatment instructions and guidance for skincare after melasma treatment. The therapist will create an online chat group for at-home follow-up care, connecting the patient with the doctor through an online channel to regularly monitor the patient’s skin condition.

5

Follow-up according to the scheduled appointment

After completing the treatment process, follow-up visits to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness are very important. The doctor will assess the skin condition and the progress of the recovery process. If necessary, the doctor may adjust the treatment plan or recommend additional methods to enhance the results. This ensures that the patient receives optimal care and achieves the expected outcomes.

Important Considerations

  • Apply an ice pack to the treated area to help reduce burning sensation and swelling.
  • Keep the post-laser treatment area clean; cleanse with clean water and avoid using products containing strong detergents.
  • The treated area should be covered with gauze until the skin has healed.
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing and avoid tight garments that may irritate or rub against the treated area, which could worsen discomfort.
  • Do not scratch, pick, or peel flaking skin to prevent infection. If symptoms such as severe redness, significant pain, swelling, or pus discharge occur, contact the doctor immediately.
  • Protect the treated skin carefully after laser treatment by covering the area and applying sunscreen.
