Fractional Laser Hair Regrowth Treatment in Ho Chi Minh City

Laser Hair Regrowth Treatment typically produces noticeable improvements in hair density after 3–6 months. The cost depends on the treatment area and method used, ranging from VND 2,500,000 to VND 5,800,000.

Medically reviewed by Dr Quynh Trang, Dermatologist (HCMC)

Fractional Laser for hair growth stimulation uses microscopic laser beams to create controlled micro-injuries on the scalp. The subsequent healing response is what stimulates the hair follicles: increased blood flow is directed to the treated area, while growth factors are released around the hair roots to support thicker, stronger hair growth.

The cost of hair growth stimulation laser treatment at Wedo Skin Clinic varies depending on the treatment area and technology used, ranging from VND 2,500,000 to VND 5,800,000.

The technology

How it works

What Is Fractional Laser Scalp Treatment?

What Is Fractional Laser Scalp Treatment?

Fractional Laser divides the laser beam into hundreds of tiny microbeams, treating only around 15–20% of the scalp surface with each session. The healthy skin between the treated microzones helps the affected areas heal from multiple directions, allowing the treatment area to recover within a few days with minimal downtime. At WeDo, this technique is performed using two laser platforms: - Alma Pixel CO₂ Fractional Laser: Used for approximately one-third of the scalp, typically targeting the crown or part line where thinning becomes noticeable early. - K-FCO₂: Used for the entire scalp, with energy settings adjusted according to each area because the temporal scalp is thinner than the crown. Both systems are part of WeDo’s treatment technology portfolio and are operated by dermatologists.

How Laser Hair Regrowth Works

How Laser Hair Regrowth Works

Fractional Laser does not directly “make hair grow,” nor does it create new hair follicles. Instead, it delivers a sufficiently small but distinct injury signal to trigger the body’s natural healing response. Blood flow increases, while growth factors are recruited to each micro-treatment zone to support tissue repair. Hair follicles within these areas may therefore benefit from this supportive environment. This matters because hair follicles follow a growth cycle consisting of a growth phase (anagen) and a resting phase (telogen). During anagen, follicles produce hair shafts; during telogen, follicular activity decreases and the old hair eventually sheds. Excessive hair loss can occur when too many follicles enter the resting phase and remain there for too long. Increased blood flow and growth factors following laser treatment may help inactive follicles return to the growth phase sooner. Laser may shorten the waiting period, but it cannot replace follicles that have already been lost. When the follicles are significantly weakened, doctors may combine laser treatment with PRP hair restoration therapy: laser initiates the healing response, while PRP delivers additional growth factors derived from the patient’s own blood to the stimulated area.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Laser Hair Regrowth?

Who Is a Good Candidate for Laser Hair Regrowth?

Hair growth stimulation laser is suitable for individuals who still have viable hair follicles, including: - Early to moderate androgenetic hair loss: The follicles are still present but becoming miniaturized. Hair grows progressively thinner and lighter, the part line gradually widens in women, or the hairline recedes at the temples in men. - Diffuse hair loss after childbirth, severe illness, or prolonged stress (telogen effluvium): This type of hair loss can theoretically resolve on its own, but the recovery period may be long enough for noticeable thinning. Laser treatment may help shorten this waiting period. - Thinning hair without significant shedding: This group may benefit from combining laser treatment with mesotherapy for hair loss, with laser supporting follicle activation and mesotherapy providing additional nourishment. Laser treatment is unlikely to improve areas where the hair follicles have been permanently lost or replaced by scar tissue. In such cases, hair transplantation may be required.

Contraindications

Contraindications

Hair growth stimulation laser should be postponed or avoided in the following cases: - The scalp has an active infection or inflammation; psoriasis or scalp eczema is currently flaring. - Pregnancy or breastfeeding; uncontrolled underlying medical conditions, particularly those affecting wound healing. - Taking prescription medications that increase photosensitivity. Therefore, during consultations, Wedo doctors will review your medical history to determine whether the treatment is appropriate and ensure safety.

Advantages

Why choose this treatment

No needles and no blood draw: everything is delivered through the scalp surface, an easy first step if you dislike injections.
30–45 minutes per session, virtually no downtime: the scalp looks red and feels tingly for 1–2 days. You can work the same afternoon.
Layers cleanly with PRP or mesotherapy inside one plan, each doing its own job.
Calibrated by a dermatologist zone by zone: crown, parting and temples never take the same settings, which keeps risk low.
Results hold when the course is completed and maintained, since laser works through the scalp's own repair mechanism.

Treatment process

6 steps, clinically led

1

Step 1: Scalp Examination and Density Assessment

A dermatologist examines your scalp under magnification and reads three things: density zone by zone, the proportion of miniaturised hairs, and the condition of the scalp itself. Together they identify the cause and how many follicles can still respond.

2

Step 2: Personalized Treatment Planning

Your dermatologist proposes the number of sessions, the treatment area (one-third or full scalp), and whether PRP or mesotherapy should be combined. Combination pricing is quoted at the consultation rather than sold as a fixed bundle, because the session count depends on how advanced the loss is, and on your budget.

3

Step 3: Cleansing and Disinfecting the Treatment Area

The area is cleansed and disinfected. The laser opens hundreds of temporary channels in the skin, so sterility here accounts for much of the safety.

4

Step 4: Topical or Spray Anesthetic

Numbing cream or spray is applied and left to take effect, reducing sensation to mild tingling and warmth.

5

Step 5: Laser Application by Area

Your dermatologist works through the zones mapped at the exam, adjusting energy to the density and skin thickness of each. A session runs 30–45 minutes.

6

Step 6: Aftercare Instructions and Follow-Up

Your dermatologist explains how to care for the scalp over the following days, and a technician sets up an online follow-up group so you can ask the moment something looks unexpected. It is the treatment journey WeDo applies across every service.

Aftercare

Make results last

During the First 24–48 Hours

During the first 24–48 hours, do not wash your hair or wear tight-fitting hats. The micro-treatment points are still closing during this period, and sweat trapped under a hat can create a favorable environment for bacteria, while friction may slow the healing process.

During the first week, avoid hair dyeing, perming, and straightening, and limit exposure to intense sunlight, as the treated scalp is more sensitive to chemicals and UV radiation.

Progress Timeline After Laser Treatment

During weeks 1–4, hair shedding typically begins to decrease gradually, which is often the earliest noticeable sign.

During months 2–3, new baby hairs may begin to appear, often first along the part line and hairline.

During months 3–6, improvements in hair density become more noticeable. These timelines are for reference only and may vary depending on the cause of hair loss and individual response.

A standard treatment plan typically consists of 4–8 sessions, with 2–4 weeks between sessions. This interval follows the hair follicle growth cycle, allowing the healing response from the previous session to progress before the next stimulation.

Stopping after only two or three sessions is common and may be a major reason why results fall short of expectations, as many follicles are only beginning to transition at that stage.

FAQ

Still have questions?

Is laser hair regrowth treatment effective?
Yes, as long as the follicle is still active. Laser micro-points increase blood flow and growth factors around the follicle; most patients notice less shedding after 3–4 weeks, with visible density improvement after 3–6 months when the full course is completed. If the follicle has fully fibrosed there is nothing left to stimulate, and your dermatologist will say so at the scalp exam.
What is fractional laser scalp treatment?
It's a technique that splits a laser beam into hundreds of microscopic points, treating only part of the scalp per session. The untouched surrounding skin allows fast recovery, with virtually no downtime.
What is the best hair loss treatment for women?
It depends on the cause, and the two most common causes are managed differently. Postpartum shedding is temporary and treatment aims to shorten it; female-pattern thinning is progressive and needs an ongoing plan. Laser, PRP and mesotherapy are all used, alone or combined. A free scalp consultation confirms which pattern you have.
How long does it take for hair to regrow after laser treatment?
New hair typically starts appearing around months 2–3, with density improving noticeably by months 3–6. The standard course is 4–8 sessions, 2–4 weeks apart — results build along your hair's natural growth cycle rather than after a single session.
How much does laser hair loss treatment cost?
At WeDo, Fractional CO2 laser for one-third of the scalp is 3,900,000đ per session and the full-scalp program (K-FCO2) is 4,800,000đ per session. The scalp exam and consultation are free, so you know the session count and expected total before you commit.
Does scalp laser treatment hurt?
A topical or spray anesthetic is applied beforehand, so most patients feel only mild tingling and warmth. The scalp may look slightly red for 1–2 days before settling back to normal.
Can laser treat genetic (hereditary) hair loss?
For early- to moderate-stage genetic (androgenetic) hair loss, laser helps thicken thinning areas and slow progression, often combined with PRP, mesotherapy or prescription medication prescribed by your doctor. If the follicle has fully fibrosed, common in long-standing bald patches, laser is less effective and your dermatologist will recommend a different approach.
Will Hair Loss Return After Completing the Treatment Course?
It depends on the underlying cause. Postpartum hair loss or hair loss following an illness usually does not recur once overall health has stabilized. Androgenetic hair loss, however, is a progressive condition. After completing the initial treatment course, the doctor may recommend less frequent maintenance sessions to help preserve the hair density achieved.
