Eyebrow tattoo removal at WeDo Skin Clinic uses a Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser (Lutronic Spectra, dual 1064/532nm). The listed price is 1,500,000 VND per session, and your consultation and skin analysis with a dermatologist are free before any plan is agreed. Most patients need 2–6 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, depending on ink color and how deeply the pigment was placed. Once the skin has healed fully you can have your brows re-tattooed or microbladed in a new shape. Both clinics are central, in District 1 and District 2, and consultations are held in English.
Old brow work rarely fails all at once. It drifts. Permanent makeup pigment blends colorants that break down at different rates: warm tones degrade fastest under UV, while darker and metal-oxide particles sit deeper and last far longer. Light scattering through the skin above that residue is what your eye reads as blue-grey; iron-oxide brown bases oxidise the other way, toward brick red.
Tattooing over old work is fastest, but it only behaves on a faint base. Topical “ink removal” solutions sold by salons deliberately injure the epidermis so pigment lifts out with the scab, which beside the eye socket is a direct route to scarring — the same goes for anything you try at home. Laser works the other way around, leaving the surface intact and targeting the ink particle underneath.
Before any laser session you get a free consultation and skin analysis with a dermatologist to assess ink color and depth. Because the price list is per session, you can stop once the base is faint enough for what you want next; there is no package upfront. Book a free dermatologist consultation at WeDo Skin Clinic in District 1 or District 2.
### Results and when you can get your eyebrows re-tattooed
Ink fades session by session. Your body needs weeks to clear the shattered pigment, so week four shows that session’s real result — not the swollen, darker brow of the next morning.
Your dermatologist reassesses the fade at each visit. Plenty of patients stop early, needing the base only faint enough for a new brow artist to work over. Before re-tattooing, the skin must have healed completely — typically a few weeks up to around 2 months after the last session. How it works
How the Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser (Lutronic Spectra) breaks down brow pigment
Tattoo pigment does not sit on the skin. It was deposited into the dermis and stayed there because the particles are too large for immune cells to carry away; your body has been trying to clear them for years without success. So the laser's job is not to bleach the ink, but to break those particles small enough for your body to finish the job itself. "Q-Switched" describes how. Spectra compresses a full pulse of energy into billionths of a second, too fast for heat to spread into surrounding tissue. The energy expands abruptly inside the pigment particle instead, fracturing it mechanically while the surface above stays intact. The two wavelengths cover two color families: 1064nm goes deeper, absorbed strongly by black and blue-shifted ink, while 532nm targets red, orange and brown. Fragmented particles are cleared by the lymphatic system over the following weeks, which is why the brow keeps lightening between visits. And because the laser is selective for pigment rather than heating the whole area, surrounding tissue and the eyebrow hair follicles are largely spared, so brow hair grows back normally. It is the same platform behind WeDo's Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser tattoo removal for body tattoos.
How many sessions, by ink color and depth
Two variables dominate: pigment color and depth. - Black or smoky grey — absorbs 1064nm strongly; usually the fewest sessions. - Blue-shifted ink (common in brows tattooed over five years ago) — also 1064nm; a moderate count. - Red, orange or brown — needs 532nm, and usually more sessions than black or blue. - Powder or ombré brows (sprayed, not deep needle strokes) — shallower pigment clears faster. - Oxide-based pigment — needs most caution: some darken temporarily right after the first pulse, so your dermatologist test-fires a small spot first. One variable people rarely consider: brows tattooed three times over a decade carry three layers of pigment at three depths, possibly in three chemistries. The laser works top layer down, so these land in the upper half of the range. The 4–6 week gap is not scheduling convenience. It is the minimum time for skin to recover and for the lymphatic system to clear the last session's fragments; treating sooner stacks trauma on unhealed skin without removing ink faster. For body work, WeDo offers tattoo removal with the Nd:YAG 1064 laser, priced by area — see how many laser tattoo removal sessions a full tattoo takes, and how much removing a tattoo costs by size.
Eye safety
Your brow sits millimetres from the eyelid margin, and the retina is the tissue most vulnerable to laser light in the body. That single fact decides who should hold the handpiece. At WeDo your eyes are shielded with protective eyecups placed directly on the eye, not external goggles; both dermatologist and technician are trained in laser operation; and energy is calibrated for thin periocular skin. Getting this wrong does not cost a good cosmetic result. It costs eye injury and scarring you cannot hide.

6 steps, clinically led
Step 1: Consultation and a personalized plan
Your dermatologist assesses ink color, depth and how many times the brows have been tattooed, then gives you an expected session count and cost. Mention any date you want to be re-tattooed by, so the course is planned backwards.
Step 2: Cleansing the brow area
Makeup, oil and residue are removed — anything left behind absorbs laser energy and distorts how the pigment responds.
Step 3: Numbing cream
Numbing cream is applied and left on to take full effect — a wait usually longer than the laser work itself.
Step 4: Removing the cream, disinfecting, and eye protection
Your dermatologist wipes off the cream, disinfects, and fits protective eyecups before the device is armed. If oxide-based pigment is suspected, the test spot is fired now.
Step 5: Laser treatment with Spectra
Your dermatologist passes over the pigment line by line, a few minutes per side. You will hear a small snap and feel brief heat, like a rubber band flick; say so if it feels sharper and the energy comes down.
Step 6: Soothing care and your next appointment
A soothing cream is applied, you get aftercare instructions, and the next session is booked 4–6 weeks out. The brow may look flushed and the ink darker for a few days — normal healing.
Make results last
Stay out of direct sun
Freshly treated skin is reactive and pigments easily in sunlight. Avoid direct sun for at least 2 weeks; outdoors, wear a wide-brimmed hat and use sunscreen as directed. In Ho Chi Minh City, year-round.
Clean the area correctly at each stage
On day one, clean with saline only. From day two, use a mild cleanser, avoid rubbing the brow, and pat dry.
Do not pick or scratch
Light scabbing is expected. That crust covers new skin that has not finished forming, and picking it early is the surest way to turn a low-risk procedure into a scar.
Pause strong resurfacing products and exfoliants on the forehead and brow
Until the brow has healed, stop all potent skin-renewal products and any chemical or physical exfoliation across the forehead and brow.
No makeup or brow pencil on healing skin
Wait until the area has finished flaking before using makeup or a brow pencil; brush and pencil tips on an open wound invite infection.
Take any medication exactly as prescribed
If your dermatologist prescribes a topical or oral treatment to support healing, take it only at the dose and for the duration given, under their supervision.
