Ink fades session by session. Your body needs weeks to clear the shattered pigment, so week four shows that session’s real result – not the swollen, darker brow of the next morning. Spectra compresses a full pulse of energy into billionths of a second, too fast for heat to spread into surrounding tissue. The energy expands abruptly inside the pigment particle instead, fracturing it mechanically while the surface above stays intact.
How many sessions, by ink color and depth
Black or smoky grey: absorbs 1064nm strongly; usually the fewest sessions. Blue-shifted ink: also 1064nm; a moderate count. Red, orange or brown: needs 532nm, and usually more sessions than black or blue. Powder or ombré brows (sprayed, not deep needle strokes): shallower pigment clears faster. Oxide-based pigment:: some darken temporarily right after the first pulse, so your dermatologist test-fires a small spot first.

6 steps, clinically led
Step 1: Consultation and a personalized plan
Your dermatologist assesses ink color, depth and how many times the brows have been tattooed, then gives you an expected session count and cost. Mention any date you want to be re-tattooed by, so the course is planned backwards.
Step 2: Cleansing the brow area
Makeup, oil and residue are removed — anything left behind absorbs laser energy and distorts how the pigment responds.
Step 3: Numbing cream
Numbing cream is applied and left on to take full effect - a wait usually longer than the laser work itself.
Step 4: Removing the cream, disinfecting, and eye protection
Your dermatologist wipes off the cream, disinfects, and fits protective eyecups before the device is armed. If oxide-based pigment is suspected, the test spot is fired now.
Step 5: Laser treatment with Spectra
Your dermatologist passes over the pigment line by line, a few minutes per side. You will hear a small snap and feel brief heat, like a rubber band flick; say so if it feels sharper and the energy comes down.
Step 6: Soothing care and your next appointment
A soothing cream is applied, you get aftercare instructions, and the next session is booked 4–6 weeks out. The brow may look flushed and the ink darker for a few days - normal healing.
Make results last
Stay out of direct sun
Freshly treated skin is reactive and pigments easily in sunlight. Avoid direct sun for at least 2 weeks; outdoors, wear a wide-brimmed hat and use sunscreen as directed. In Ho Chi Minh City, year-round.
Clean the area correctly at each stage
On day one, clean with saline only. From day two, use a mild cleanser, avoid rubbing the brow, and pat dry.
Do not pick or scratch

Pause strong resurfacing products and exfoliants on the forehead and brow
Until the brow has healed, stop all potent skin-renewal products and any chemical or physical exfoliation across the forehead and brow.

Wait until the area has finished flaking before using makeup or a brow pencil; brush and pencil tips on an open wound invite infection.
Take any medication exactly as prescribed
