OPT Light SHR is a hair removal technology used in dermatology that utilizes continuous light pulses, combining two innovations: OPT (Optimal Pulse Technology) and SHR (Super Hair Removal). The system emits light pulses within a wavelength range of approximately 530–950 nm at a frequency of 1–8 Hz, selectively targeting melanin within the hair follicles to weaken and inhibit hair growth. Step 2: Prepare the equipment and cleanse the treatment area

Before performing the hair removal procedure, WeDo’s technicians will carry out a meticulous skin cleansing process. Using specialized products, your skin will be deeply cleansed to completely remove dirt, excess oil, dead skin cells, and short hair strands. This step not only helps optimize the effectiveness of the hair removal treatment but also ensures safety and minimizes the risk of post-treatment skin irritation.

Step 3: Apply cooling gel to the treatment area

Cooling gel is an essential step in the hair removal procedure. This gel layer helps soothe the skin, minimize the sensation of heat, and enhance the effectiveness of the laser in targeting the hair follicles. In addition, the cooling gel also helps protect the skin, preventing irritation and burning sensations, thereby providing a safe and effective treatment experience.

Step 4: Perform hair removal

Avoid direct sunlight

After undergoing a hair removal treatment, your skin may become more sensitive to the effects of sunlight. To protect the treated skin and maintain long-lasting hair removal results, we recommend avoiding direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours.

If you need to go outside, remember to apply a high-SPF sunscreen (preferably SPF 50 or higher) and carefully cover the treated area with clothing or protective accessories. Proper sun protection helps minimize the risk of irritation, burning sensations, and hyperpigmentation, while also helping weaken hair follicles and delay regrowth.

Avoid water contact and hot showers

After hair removal, to ensure optimal results and protect the skin, you should follow several important recommendations: During the first 3–4 hours, strictly avoid any contact with water. Over the next 24 hours, limit hot showers or soaking in a bathtub. High temperatures may irritate the skin, dilate the pores, and increase the risk of infection. Instead, gently cleanse the body using lukewarm or cool water along with mild cleansing products.

Use appropriate moisturizing products

After undergoing a hair removal procedure, your skin may become more sensitive and lose a certain amount of moisture. This can make the skin more prone to dryness, flaking, and irritation. Therefore, moisturizing is essential to help restore and protect the skin.

Avoid strenuous physical activities after hair removal

Avoid strong exfoliation and the use of products containing potent active ingredients.

During the first 2–3 days, you should limit the use of strong exfoliating products, retinol, AHA/BHA, or alcohol-based deodorants. These products may damage the skin and cause irritation, leading to enlarged pores and creating favorable conditions for bacterial invasion. Instead, prioritize gentle, fragrance-free products with moisturizing ingredients to help the skin recover more quickly.
